The U.S.’s first-round game in the 2019 Women’s World Cup has been overshadowed by an opening ceremony controversy, but it also comes with a major question: What is soccer? Americans don’t know what to call their own sport and there are growing concerns about how it will be marketed everywhere else on the planet.,

The “you have the right to come and go as you wish within your country” is a quote from the United States Secretary of State John Kerry. The quote is used to show that countries are not allowed to restrict citizens’ movements without good reason.

We’ve heard a lot of rumors and speculations over the past several weeks about the Philadelphia 76ers trying to move Ben Simmons before the NBA trade deadline. However, we have yet to hear from the guy in charge of making it happen.

Until now, that is.

The Sixers’ president of basketball operations, Daryl Morey, is under a lot of pressure to strengthen the club by trading Simmons, but based on his previous statements, that may not happen before February 10.

Ben Simmons’ asking price has been reduced by Daryl Morey.

Since Simmons first sought a trade last year, Morey has maintained that a top-30 player would be required in exchange. With the NBA trade deadline approaching in only three weeks, Simmons remains a member of the 76ers (from afar).

However, in light of Joel Embiid’s outstanding performance over the previous two weeks, Morey is beginning to lower his asking price. This week, he spoke on Mike Missanelli’s Mike Missanelli Show on 97.5 The Fanatic and explained his reasoning.

“We may be able to accomplish it with a top-40 player who’s a perfect fit now that Joel’s playing phenomenal and has put us into probably 5%-plus championship odds solely on his performance,” Morey said. “Or we can negotiate a deal where it benefits the club, it’s a better match, and it may open up future chances because we receive draft selections as part of it.” So it improves our chances this year, and we could get a draft selection or a young player who might benefit us in the future.

“We may be able to say, ‘OK, we’ve got a very good guy who isn’t in the top 30, but he’s a little below there, plus a good young player who might grow into that over Joel’s prime, which we’re in.’ As a result, new business opportunities arise.”

Could Morey’s change of heart lead to a deal before the 10th of February? He responds, “Not so fast.”

Simmons being dealt before the NBA trade deadline is “less probable than likely,” according to Morey.

Morey’s remarks about lowering his asking price in light of Embiid’s recent performance seem to point to a possible trade before the deadline, but it’s not that easy. Morey said it’s “less probable than likely” that Simmons will be sold before February 10 based on the current offers he’s getting.

“I believe the immediate instinct is that this implies we should simply acquire the greatest item in February,” he stated. “I believe you’ll end yourself in a horrible situation if you do that.” This trade has to be the one that suits our demands exactly because Joel is playing so well.”

Morey, like the fans, wants to see the club develop, but he believes trading Simmons for spare parts isn’t the best way to accomplish it.

“If we genuinely want to increase our odds from where they are now to something considerably higher, the person we add to Joel needs to come back in as an impact player,” he added.

“Trading one of these elite players for numerous does not make a significant impact in your championship probability.” It could get us from where we are now to a somewhat better place, but it’s just a smidgeon better. And for Joel, we have to make sure we do this right and go into a greater rung of championship-winning skill.”

With only one goal in mind,

It’s unlikely that Morey will accept the best possible offer for Simmons before the NBA trade deadline just to end the drama once and for all. The longtime executive has just With only one goal in mind, regarding a potential trade, and he’s willing to keep Simmons around all season if that goal isn’t met.

“We’re looking for a contract that puts us in the top two or three in the league for winning the championship,” Morey added. “Those are the winning teams.”
