On November 11th, the team announced that quarterback Blaine Gabbert would be out for at least a week with a shoulder injury. Gabbert was hurt in a team-mandated workout, but the injury was not considered serious. It was considered a week-to-week injury.
Up until this point, the Jaguars have been in a holding pattern. The team has been a playoff team the past two seasons, but couldn’t get the win when it mattered most. This season the Jaguars have a new head coach, Doug Marrone, and a new offensive coordinator, Nathaniel Hackett. Both of them are said to have a very different coaching style than the folks in charge in the past. This has led to a lot of chatter about the team being “cautious” this year.
Recently, Jacksonville Jaguars coach Urban Meyer informed the media and fans about Trevor Lawrence’s injury. But it was not the surgically repaired shoulder of number one. Instead, it was a hamstring injury he suffered when he signed up for the OTAs. Meyer also recently talked about how Lawrence performed during the team’s pre-draft training camp, and shared some good and not so good comments about the quarterback’s first practice wearing a Jaguars helmet.
Trevor Lawrence after off-season surgery
Trevor Lawrence, the presumed No. 1, will be available on the 12th. February throws for NFL teams and will not participate in Clemson’s pro day next month, according to his representative @mgcsports.
