In 2022, the next NBA Slam Dunk Contest will feature four of the best dunks artists in basketball. This list provides details about each player’s height and weight, their date of birth as well as their current team/league affiliation.

The “how many dunks in nba history” is a question that can be answered by looking at the list of dunks. There are 4 players competing in the 2022 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, and they have each dunked at least once. With an average of 2.5 dunks per player, there has been a total of 10 dunks since the competition began.

The NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 2022 is rapidly approaching, and we now know which stars will compete.

Of course, we won’t be receiving any big names like we used to (or wanted to), but there are still a few significant names in the mix: Cole Anthony, Jalen Green, Obi Toppin, Juan Toscano-Anderson

As we get closer to the event, we’ve chosen to rate each of them, although not based on their playing ability. This is a rating of their dunking abilities and what they could bring to the NBA All-Star Weekend tournament.

The criteria were based on their athleticism and the number of times they have dunked this season. We also looked at their dunking history, whether it was via previous slam dunk tournaments or through other viral jams.

So, without further ado, here is a ranking of the players Shams Charania reported to be participating in 2022 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.

4. Houston Rockets’ Jalen Green

Make no mistake: just because Jalen Green is fourth in the lineup doesn’t mean he can’t dunk. The 6-foot-4-inch guard has a chance to win the tournament.

Green, a rookie with the Houston Rockets, ranks second among these players (and 77th in the NBA) in dunks with 26 this season. Since he was a teenager, he’s been going popular on Twitter with insane in-game smashes.

Green’s explosiveness could help him win the slam dunk contest this year. The other stars, on the other hand, either have more NBA dunking experience or are just more explosive in various ways.

3. Golden State Warriors’ Juan Toscano-Anderson

In terms of overall ability, Juan Toscano-Anderson is perhaps the least talented of the four players. His dunking resume, on the other hand, is rather outstanding.

Despite playing less minutes than Green, Toscano-Anderson, a 6-foot-6-inch winger for the Golden State Warriors, had almost as many dunks as Green. Green has 26 dunks and has played 1,054 minutes this season, as previously stated (30.1 per game). In 760 minutes, Toscano-Anderson had 20 slams (15.2 per game).

In addition, the Marquette product has more experience with a viral dunk in a real NBA game. He had a monster jam on Phoenix Suns big man JaVale McGee earlier this season that nearly broke the internet.

As a result, Toscano-Anderson has the advantage over Green due to his in-game dunk volume and viral NBA slam. He still doesn’t make the top two, however.

2. Orlando Magic’s Cole Anthony

Okay, this one could be a bit of a toss-up. With ten dunks this season, Anthony, the son of former NBA player Greg Anthony, has the fewest of all of these players. And, unlike Toscano-Anderson, he didn’t have a video go viral during his NBA career.

He does, however, have one advantage in this competition: his size.

With a height of just 6 feet 2 inches, Anthony is the smallest player in the tournament. His ability to stand despite his height is incredible, and he, like Green, has had some well-documented (and rude) jams circulate online over the years, particularly when he was a youngster.

We’ve all seen how short players have fared in this tournament. Nate Robinson, who is only 5 feet 9 inches tall, has won the most slam dunk contests, three times. The Orlando Magic guard has a chance to win the tournament if he can channel his inner Robinson and show just how high he can jump.

1. New York Knicks’ Obi Toppin

Obi Toppin is ranked first because he meets all of the criteria. He has the most dunks of any of these players this season, with 66, good for 16th in the NBA despite only playing 728 minutes (15.8 per game).

For years, he’s also flaunted his athleticism. From his time at the University of Dayton to today with the New York Knicks, there are several footage of his outrageous dunks. In reality, this year, Toppin went between the legs during a real game.

But it’s his slam dunk contest expertise that gives the 6-foot-9-inch forward the edge. Last year, he competed in the event and came in second to Anfernee Simons. It’s time for him to avenge himself.

Despite the absence of renowned names, this should be an exciting tournament. Toppin’s experience may just give him an advantage over his peers.

Following the announcement of this year’s Rising Stars rosters, the NBA’s bright future is about to be unleashed on fans.
