For the Milwaukee Bucks, what seemed to be a cakewalk is quickly turning into a tragedy. In the first round of the playoffs, the third-seeded Bucks were drawn against the sixth-seeded Chicago Bulls, a club they swept during the regular season. On paper, they were a complete mismatch.

The Bulls seemed to find solace in their Game 1 defeat, knowing that despite bad shooting and a sluggish start, they stayed tough with the defending NBA champs. Milwaukee led by as much as 16 points after scoring the opening nine points of the game.
According to The Chicago Tribune, Chicago’s Zach LaVine remarked, “I think we did a terrific job with us shooting this way and defending the way we did, keeping the game going.” “We squandered a lot of possibilities.”
DeMar DeRozan, who shot 6-for-25 in Game 1, led Chicago to a 114-110 win in a game that wasn’t very close. The Bulls led 96-80 with 9:47 left in the game. In the last seven minutes, the Bucks staged a comeback, but they couldn’t overcome the gap.

The Bulls have not only seen the Bucks before, but they might also face them at home without one of their greatest talents.
Midway through the fourth quarter, Middleton departed the game with a sprained medial collateral ligament. As he walked to the locker room, he slipped while going to the basket and favored his left leg.

Middleton struggled early in Wednesday’s defeat but heated up as the game progressed, scoring 18 points in the end. He exited the game just as the Bucks launched their late comeback.
The Bucks are worried about more than just Middleton. In the first quarter, Bobby Portis was hit in the face by a Tristan Thompson elbow while scrapping for a rebound. At halftime, Portis exited the game and warmed up, but he returned to the locker room. He never came back.
The Bucks discovered before the game that guard George Hill would be sidelined indefinitely due to an abdominal injury.
Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer stated, “We don’t anticipate him in the near term.”
Injuries are unavoidable in sports. They’ve been a problem for the Bucks all season. For the time being, they must merely contain the Bulls as they prepare for Game 3 on the road.
