The Phoenix Suns were in the midst of a five game losing streak earlier this week, and things were looking bleak for the Suns. The team had a week off to regroup and prepare for their next game, and despite having two weeks to prepare, the Suns still could not get back on track. As a result, the Suns were looking like a lock to be eliminated from the playoffs before the end of the regular season.
Last Friday, on the night of the NBA’s conference finals, the Milwaukee Bucks clinched their first-ever playoff series victory since moving to the city in 1968, and then proceeded to lose Game 7—a heartbreaker to be sure—to the Phoenix Suns. In the end, however, the Bucks will have no regrets over their most recent playoff run, as they secured themselves a four-year, $128.4 million contract extension for their superstar forward, All-Star guard Eric Bledsoe.
As the NBA playoffs approach, there are no clear favorites, and the NBA is one of the most unpredictable sports leagues. But, there are still a few teams that stand out and are sure to make some noise come playoff time, and one of them is the Milwaukee Bucks. While the Bucks haven’t quite lived up to their expectations, they still have a solid roster and a chance to make it to the NBA Finals. Despite their issues, the Bucks have one of the best young players in the league in Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is revitalizing the franchise and getting better as the season goes on.
Let’s get one thing straight: Torrey Craig wants the Phoenix Suns to beat the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals. Why? Because he plays for them. That makes sense, but what consolation prize does Craig get if he loses? The Ring of Champions.Torrey Craig had an outstanding academic career

Torrey Craig played basketball at Great Falls High School in Great Falls, South Carolina and then basketball at the University of South Carolina Upstate. Craig was a four-year star in college. As a rookie, the 6-foot-7 small forward averaged 14.4 points and 7.2 rebounds. He was named Atlantic Sun Conference Freshman of the Year.
The following year, Craig was named MVP of the conference with 16.4 points per game. He was honored as an All-American. He was also the conference’s top scorer.
As a junior, Craig led the Atlantic Sun Conference averaging 17.2 points per game. He reached the 2,000-point mark in his career as a senior, scoring 22 points in the game against East Tennessee State. Craig is just the seventh player in Atlantic Sun history to score 2,000 points in a career.
Torrey Craig will have the NBA championship ring no matter what

Craig did not follow the traditional path to the NBA. After four years at SCU, he signed with the Cairns Tipans, a professional team in Australia. He hoped to make the NBA team, but he couldn’t, even though he thought he had a great workout.
I coached the Minnesota Timberwolves and I thought I did a good job, but coming from a small school, I don’t think you get treated the same way as the guys from the big schools, he told the Cairns Post in 2014. But now I have a chance to prove myself and I want to make the most of it.
Craig eventually made it to the NBA and signed with the Denver Nuggets in 2017. He spent three seasons with the Nuggets, averaging 5.3 points per game. He signed with the Bucks as a free agent last November. He played in 18 games this season, where he was subbed in, and averaged 2.5 points in 11.2 minutes. In March, the Bucs traded him to the Suns for money.
By the time the Bucks won their ticket to the NBA Finals with a Game 6 victory over the Atlanta Hawks, Craig was already considered a champion. He’ll get the ring anyway.
Craig’s situation is rare, but it happened in 2016

No player from either team earned the championship ring. According to Yahoo! Sports, this is the first time since 1977 that no player from either team has won the NBA Finals. But the pressure is off Craig, because he could get a ring if the Bucs win.
In 2016, Anderson Varejao, who spent 12 seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, was traded to the Golden State Warriors during the season. Of course, the Cavs and Warriors meet in the NBA Finals.
The Cavaliers defeated the Warriors 3-1 to become the first team in NBA history to come back from such a loss. The Cavaliers offered Varejao a ring, but he turned it down. As for getting the ring, the pressure is off Craig. He would have had a much easier life if the Suns had just won.

COMPARED TO: How much are the Milwaukee Bucks worth? It’s been over a month since the Phoenix Suns traded up to select point guard Eric Bledsoe with the 10th pick of the NBA draft, and the Milwaukee Bucks now have a top point guard in place. But in a recent interview with Mark Jano, Suns GM Ryan McDonough revealed that for all intents and purposes the Bucks were the team to beat..
