Here is a guide to the face codes in the Mass Effect games. It’s not in English, but I’ve made a translation for you.
Some of you might have heard of Mass Effect. If you haven’t, you should play it. It’s a pretty decent science fiction game, and it’s also a pretty good guide for importing your characters faces from the game into your Mass Effect 3 character, so that they look exactly like you want them to.
With the release of Mass Effect Legendary Edition many players started wondering if it’s possible to transfer the original look of your Shepard character from the old Mass Effect games. It turns out that this option is featured in the new edition of the game, but you need to have access to your old save files. Once you have those available, follow our guide for all the tips on how to import faces in Mass Effect Legendary Edition using face codes. These 36-digit numbers bring back to life your original character design exactly as it looked back in the days. You can also use this feature to import community-shared faces, for that perfect Shepard look.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition: How to Input Face Codes
When you have the 36-digit number copied, follow these steps to import the code into Mass Effect Legendary Edition:
- Start a New Game
- Select “Enter New ID” option
- Choose the same gender for your Shepard character as before
- Enter the “Character Appearance” menu
- Paste the Identity Code into the “Code” field
If you’ve done everything right, then you should be looking at the face you’ve chosen to input the code for. Do be aware that some older faces may not look exactly as they originally did, which is something Bioware is aware of.
Mass Effect 1 Face Codes
If you have access to old save files only for Mass Effect 1, then it’s going to be a bit more difficult. But you can still import faces from that version of the game into the Legendary Edition by following these steps:
- Start Mass Effect 2 game
- Select “Import ME1 Character” in the main menu
- Choose to upload the old save file from Mass Effect 1
- Copy the “Identity Code” number from the customization screen
Once you have the face code from Mass Effect 1, you can repeat the same steps to import it into the Legendary Edition of the game as listed above. Now, you can easily transfer faces of your old characters from the old Mass Effect games into the Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
