Most adults know that vaccinations are important to protect children from deadly diseases like measles and polio, but not all adults are aware that unvaccinated children are putting others at risk. Celebrities like Charles Barkley can make a difference in the message that we, as a society, want to send to others.

A year after major measles outbreaks forced hundreds of children to be hospitalized, the number of cases has dropped to zero. And despite a rise in unvaccinated kids in California, the state does not have a single case. So the chances of another outbreak are slim. Yet some anti-vaxxers are still stirring up controversy.

Charles Barkley is a force to be reckoned with. The current TV commentator and former Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns player had a stern warning for people who haven’t been vaccinated against the coronavirus (COVID-19). He also went personal, calling people names and then making a proposal to all sports leagues.

Charles Barkley is vaccinated and advises you to be as well.

While COVID-19 immunization has been a hot issue recently, it has long been a major role in sports. With the start of NFL training camps, the league issued a letter to clubs that irritated several players. If a game was postponed due to an epidemic caused by unvaccinated players and could not be rescheduled within the 18-week timetable, the NFL declared that a club would have to forfeit. In the event of a forfeit, both teams’ players would lose their game pay.

The Buffalo Bills’ Cole Beasley and the Arizona Cardinals’ DeAndre Hopkins have been the most vocal opponents of the rule. They don’t think the league should try to persuade players to obtain vaccines.

Barkley chimed in on the issue of vaccinations. He began by claiming that he had been vaccinated before blasting those who had not.

According to CNBC, Barkley said, “Yes, I’m vaccinated.” “Everyone should be immunized. Period.”

He took it one step further.

He said that the only individuals who aren’t vaccinated are a–holes.

All sports leagues, according to Charles Barkley, should require their players to receive the vaccination.

Barkley had only just begun his profanity-laced tirade. He didn’t limit himself to the NFL. He believes that sports teams should make vaccinations obligatory for its athletes.

He didn’t hold back as usual.

“There are things you can’t do at work and things you have to do at work,” he said. “So, every business has regulations, and one of those requirements, in my opinion, should be that males must be vaccinated.

“Can you image if one of these unvaccinated men infects one of these athletes’ children, spouses, girlfriends, mothers and fathers, and they all die because of some bogus conspiracy? That, I believe, would be tragic.”

According to reports, 90% of NBA players have been immunized.

While there are some players who have not been vaccinated, the NBA as a whole is doing very well in terms of immunization rates. According to NBPA executive director Michele Roberts, 90 percent of NBA players are immunized.

“Your health is your business,” Roberts said during a Q&A with Yahoo! Sports. “I had individual conversations with players who were rabidly opposed to a vaccination, who I know got vaccinated, ultimately.

“And it turned out to be precisely what was stated, in that it was a personal choice made by the men to work through their issues. I mean, we were at 90%, which, to be honest, I believe is a lot more than I would have anticipated a few months ago.”

According to NFL.com, at least the first dosage of the vaccination has been administered to 85 percent of NFL players.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, 14 of the NFL’s 32 teams had vaccination rates of more than 90%.

Those are amazing statistics, but if Barkley were the commissioner of any of those leagues, it would be all or nothing.
