The Boston Celtics lost to the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night, dropping their record to 4-24. This marked a new NBA low for wins by an Eastern Conference team this season and it’s only the second time in franchise history that a team has won four games or fewer per season. Up Sunday, the Celtics put on a forgettable effort in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Bucks. That is exactly what they will do.
The Bucks punched the Celtics in the mouth, according to Celtics player Jaylen Brown, after Milwaukee won 101-89 at TD Garden on Sunday. His squad must now put the loss behind them and respond in Game 2.
According to ESPN, Brown remarked after the game, “Give credit to Milwaukee.” “They did a nice job and had a decent strategy, but we left a lot of open opportunities on the table.” We have to be ready for the next one because they strike us in the mouth.”
Tuesday night is the next one. Game 2 isn’t a must-win, but it’s close since the Celtics can’t afford to be down 2-0 heading to Milwaukee.
“We have to come out and play basketball against the reigning champions,” Brown said. “No matter what the injuries or whatever we’re dealing with, we have to be ready to go.” You must have everyone psychologically locked in and ready to throw everything out on the floor.”
The Boston Celtics came close to breaking an NBA playoff record that no one wants.

In Game 1, Boston’s shooting was atrocious. The fact that they missed 32 three-point shots wasn’t the issue. Their shooting woes stemmed from inside the arc.
Throughout the contest, the Celtics made 10 two-point field goals. The Houston Rockets established the NBA playoff record for fewest two-point field goals in a game with nine in 2017.
Inside the three-point arc, the Celtics shot 10-for-34. Boston broke the previous team record of 14 made two-point field goals to create a new best. According to ESPN NBA analyst Kirk Goldsberry, the Celtics have never scored less than 14 points in a game and have played a total of 6,630 games.
“We needed several penetrations and many paint touches,” Celtics coach Ime Udoka stated. “I believe Jaylen and Jayson (Tatum) didn’t have their greatest offensive night, missing shots that they usually hit, so those things added up to a lot of statistics.”
The Celtics will learn from their first-round setback.

The Celtics, who haven’t gotten accustomed to losing recently, had a bad night all around. It was the Bucks’ first postseason loss and their first since April 7, when they were also defeated by the Bucks.
Celtics center Al Horford predicted the team will learn from the defeat and play better in Game 2 on Tuesday.
According to ESPN, Horford added, “This one should hurt a little bit.” “Now is our chance to learn from this game, see how we can improve as a squad, and come out and do that on Tuesday.”
Udoka found a bright spot in a game when Boston didn’t seem to have many.
“On offense, it wasn’t our greatest night. Udoka said, “I believed we guarded well enough.” “Losing a 12-point game while shooting so badly does not bode well for us.” Offensively, it’s excellent to have this stinker out of the way.”
