After being worked on for several years, the sequel to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is finally going into development. The game’s Story, where the main character battles a powerful demon to save his lover’s life, is being produced by Koji Igarashi. In the past, Igarashi has said that the origins of the game go back to around the time that he and his team had set up shop on Kickstarter.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night 2 (or Bloodstained Ritual of the Night 2: The Next Chapter) is a Castlevania sequel in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux, and iOS. It is a sequel to the 2015 video game Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night which was developed by WayForward Technologies and published by 505 Games . No official title was announced for the game, but the developer has decided to name the game Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night 2. The developer has stated that they will be making a sequel in order to tell more of the story of Miriam, the protagonist of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
It looks like Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will have a sequel at some point, and development is at a very (very) early stage. News of the sequel was included in a recent financial report, and then confirmed by the game’s official Twitter page. Other than the fact that the game is in development, there isn’t much information at this time. Neither publisher 505 Games nor developer ArtPlay have revealed any further information about the sequel to RotN . There is no release window or release date, and it is not known on which platforms the action-platformer Metroidvania will be released. A tweet from Bloodstained Accounts on Twitter said: According to recent reports, 505 Games and Artplay are in the early stages of planning a sequel to Bloodstained . Since then, the game has been expanded to include two new playable characters, a classic mode (and the relentless 1986 mode), a Boss Rush mode, a crossover event, etc. The game’s roadmap for 2021 includes Chaos mode, Versus mode, another crossover and a third playable character for RotN . According to the roadmap, ArtPlay plans to add more elements to the game, but nothing has been determined yet. This means Bloodstained : Ritual of the Night 2 (or whatever the suite is called) must still be far away. I hope not. We’ll have to wait and see. Anyway, RotN is currently available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iPhone and Android.
