The UFC returns to Sacramento bringing you a night of quality fights with the main event being a showdown between two ranked strawweight fighters when (#8)Paige “PVZ” VanZant takes on (#12)Michelle Waterson. Not to be outdone, the co-main event features two of the youngest fighters on the UFC roster in Sage Northcutt vs Mickey Gall. Also, on the card in what should be a fitting end to his career, (#7)Urijah Faber takes on Brad Pickett in his last fight of his career and it just happens to be in his hometown of Sacramento, California. Last but not least, Alan Jouban will be taking on the always heavy hitting Mike Perry in what should be a fight of the night candidate. There’s plenty of great match-ups on UFC Sacramento so tune in and enjoy the fights!

(#8)Paige “12 Gauge” VanZant vs (#12)Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson

Eric “E” Knifong: VanZant via unanimous decision

Analysis: Waterson has been around for awhile but I feel like this fight will be VanZant’s coming out party, she’s fighting in Sacramento as the main event, and should bring her A game. VanZant is the bigger fight and while Waterson might be more skilled look for size to play a big factor as the fight goes on.

Justin “Meanie” Szabo: PVZ via unanimous decision

Richard “Richie B” Bowman: Waterson via 3rd round submission

Analysis: Waterson is a proven veteran that has won close fights along with finishing fights in championship rounds, which is why I’m going with her in this one. Paige VanZant has looked great against the weaker fighters at strawweight but every time we’ve seen her step up and fight a quality contender, she’s still very young and growing but until I see otherwise, I’ve gotta roll with the veteran. This fight will come down to how Waterson can handle the size of VanZant, she is the more proven fighter but VanZant is young and is bigger than most at strawweight which can help her out in this one against the smaller Waterson. This should be a fairly close fight for the few rounds before Waterson takes advantage of a VanZant mistake ending the fight sometime after the 2nd round.
