We’re back! While it may be a little late, it’s better to be late than never, am I right? Well anyways, the good people here at STF have decided to bring back the weekly NFL pick em’, and yours truly, Richie B will be bringing it to you every week before NFL Thursday Night Football. It is only week three of the NFL season and we’ve already got plenty of storylines in the NFL. The biggest one has to be rookie QB Jacoby Brissett, the 3rd round pick out of NC State playing against a very tough Houston Texans defense on a short week. This was not expected either, however, with Tom Brady still suspended and Jimmy Garoppolo messing up his shoulder vs the Dolphins, it is now time to see what the rookies got on national television.

Thursday Night Football: Houston Texans @ New England Patriots

Your hero here at SportsTalkFeed is torn when it comes to this game. The New England Patriots will be starting their rookie third-string rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett in this game against a legit Houston Texans defense. However, as we know when it comes to the Patriots, nothing makes sense, just when you think they’re going to regress or struggle some, they pull one out. This game is in Foxboro and Brissett does have a big arm, which should force the Texans defense to respect him. It is a short week and the Texans are riding high but did I also mention that they’re 1-5 all-time on Thursday? Their lone win came against the Lions on Thanksgiving back in 2012 and even then there were some questionable calls that led them to a victory. Look for Brissett to do enough to help the Patriots improve to 3-0 on the season, not to mention getting Gronk Lesnar back should give Brissett some much-needed security. Yes, it’s true, Richie B. a known Jets fan is blessing the people of Massachusetts with a Patriots win. Your welcome, Massachusetts.

Richie B’s prediction:  20-17, Patriots

Arizona Cardinals @ Buffalo Bills

This game has upset written all over it, the Arizona Cardinals are traveling across country(always brutal) to a place where not many people have been… Buffalo. With that being said Richie B. likes the Cardinals in this one, if they were 2-0 then I’d probably go with the upset but the Cardinals are locked in right now after blowing a golden opportunity vs a Brady & Gronkless Patriots team in week one. Look for the Cardinals to play with my three I’s(Intensity, Integrity, and Intelligence) en route to a double-digit victory leaving Rex and company with even more questions to be answered.

Richie B’s prediction: 27-14, Cardinals

Oakland Raiders @ Tennessee Titans

Yours truly doesn’t know what to make of this match-up, I feel like both of these teams should be 0-2, however, they’re both 1-1 with a chance to be 2-1. The Titans defense has looked legit these past few weeks while their offense has looked bad but with that being the Raiders defense has been atrocious so far this season while their offense has been solid outside of some boneheaded decisions. Richie B. likes the Titans in this one in a close game that comes down to the final drive where true heroes shine.

Richie B’s prediction: 27-24, Titans

Cleveland Browns @ Miami Dolphins

Richie B. feels for the people in Cleveland and he is a mark for their new head coach Hue Jackson which is why he’s going with the Browns in this one. Call me crazy but I like Cody Kessler, he’s a young quarterback that values the turnover battle and while he is too safe at times, you’d rather have that than an erratic quarterback making risky throws too often. It is risky, though, this is his first start but he’s being coached by a what Richie B. likes to call a PQW(Pathfinding QB Whisperer). Look for the Browns to take out the Dolphins and have the airheads in Miami wondering how anything Cleveland could ever best them. Oh, it’s true.

Richie B’s prediction:  17-14, Browns in OT

Baltimore Ravens @ Jacksonville Jaguars

The Baltimore Ravens are a team full of experience which is probably why they’re 2-0 right now, however, Richie B. thinks it’s time for that experience to show their age in a hot Jacksonville Sunday. Richie B. does think Jacksonville is a much better team than they showed after a brutal cross-country plane ride from hell. Look for Blake Bortles to pick apart a sketchy Ravens secondary that made Corey Coleman look like flashback Steve Smith, Sr. last Sunday. Gus Bradley’s hot seat will cool down some but this will only be smoke screen until they get exposed for the mid-card team they really are.

Richie B’s prediction:  31-27, Jaguars

Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers

The people of Detroit deserve better, the Lions should be 2-0 but they lacked intelligence last Sunday and blew a golden opportunity to be 2-0 right now. To make matters worse, they’re stuck playing what should be a pissed off Green Bay Packers team in Green Bay.  I like Aaron Rodgers to bounce back in this one as he’s shown Richie B. time and time again that he does indeed possess the three I’s. As for the Lions, I liked their tag team at running back but now I’m hearing that Ameer Abdullah is on injured reserve? The city of Detroit just can’t catch a break.

Richie B’s prediction: 31-19, Packers

Denver Broncos @ Cincinnati Bengals

This should be your weekly defensive battle even if the Bengals defense has not been its usual self so far this season, while outside of a few players the Broncos offense has struggled so far. It makes you wonder if we could be seeing Paxton Lynch soon but as for now, the Broncos are 2-0 so a QB change seems unnecessary. From what I’ve seen from both teams these first few games, it’s safe to say that if this were a stretcher match then the Broncos would for sure win this game as the Bengals offensive line has been below average so far in protecting their QB and also in the run game. This game is in Cincinnati which should help the Bengals somewhat and that’s why I like them, Richie B. also trusts Andy Dalton a lot more than Trevor Seaman or whatever his name is. Look for the Bengals to sneak away with a win giving the fans in Cincinnati a welcoming win.

Richie B’s prediction: 21-20, Bengals

Minnesota Vikings @ Carolina Panthers

The Minnesota Vikings are 2-0 and have played quality football these first two weeks, they could be a potential main eventer in the NFC this season even with their injuries, however, you really think the Panthers are going to be 1-2 after week 3? Richie B. doesn’t think so. I like Cam Newton to do enough on offense for the Panthers to win this one. How about Sam Bradford in his Vikings debut? Bradford is a quality QB and does have a good match-up in this week 3 but I just can’t bet against Cam in this one. Sorry, Minnesota maybe next time.

Richie B’s prediction: 21-17, Panthers

Washington Redskins @ New York Giants

The New York Giants might rock the red, white, and blue but they’re definitely not the team that represents your STF Hero, however, I do like them in this one. Let’s be “real” here, the Giants should have blown the Saints out by 20+ points if not for blown touchdown opportunities in the passing game. Look for Eli Manning to have his way with this Redskins secondary en route to a dominant win something similar to Kurt Angle’s dominance at King of the Ring 2000 sounds reasonable. It should also be another rough day for the man whose parents picked the wrong first name, “Kirk” Cousins.

Richie B’s prediction: 35-17, Giants

Los Angeles Rams @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Los Angeles Rams make no sense whatsoever, they go from getting spanked by the 49ers to beating the Seahawks? Yes, I know the Seahawks are having some issues early on and typically start slow but it still doesn’t make sense. This game has all the makings for a double-digit Buccaneers win because of the Rams traveling across the country and the Rams just won so in typical Jeff Fisher fashion, they’ll lose this one and show everyone why they’re a Jeff Fisher coached team. Look for Jameis Winston to bounce and have a solid outing as the Bucs improve to 2-1 on the season.

Richie B’s prediction:  24-14, Buccaneers

San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks

Well, look at what we have here: Chip Kelly vs Pete Carroll, it is worth noting that while this might not be Austin vs Rock(Pete Carroll vs Jim Harbaugh) it is still something to look into. In Pete Carroll’s final season as HC at USC, his Trojans got stomped by Chip Kelly’s Oregon Ducks, 47-20. Could we see a similar result here? I don’t know but Richie B. loves storylines like this, you could even make the comparison that this is Austin vs Pillmanesque. Chip had a promising start to his head coaching career in the NFL but now after a disastrous 2015 season with the Eagles, he’ll look to get back on top with a new team against an old friend. As much as I would like to see an upset here, I just don’t trust Blaine Gabbert vs that Seahawks defense.

Richie B’s prediction: 16-14, Seahawks

New York Jets @ Kansas City Chiefs

Call me bias but Richie B. loves this match-up as a Jets fan, the only problem is the game is in Kansas City. Now don’t get me wrong the people of Kansas City are very nice but it just seems like Arrowhead is either way too sunny or way too cold. Since it’s September, we can bank on it being way too sunny and Richie B. doesn’t like that. The Chiefs offense struggled against a tough Texans defense and while the Jets defense has shown weakness, I fully expect them to fix the issues up and win a very close game in Kansas City. Chiefs have had success running the ball but stopping the run is what the Jets do best.

Richie B’s prediction:  20-16, Jets

San Diego Chargers @ Indianapolis Colts

Here is your weekly shootout or at least I hope it is. Both of these teams have glaring weaknesses at the head coaching position but they both still pose the ability to put points on the board even if it’s not pretty. Andrew Luck should make fantasy owners happy as I fully expect the Chargers to jump out to an early lead forcing Luck to throw the ball a lot. Let’s just hope the Chargers don’t make San Diego sports fans suffer through another late game collapse like they did in week one vs the Chiefs or like they’ve done for the most part these past 50 years.

Richie B’s prediction:  40-35, Chargers

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Philadelphia Eagles

I’ll be honest, I don’t know if the people in Pennsylvania even have a name for this game when these two teams meet so I’ll just call this game “Invasion”. I have some advice for the Steelers fans that plan on attending this game, do not do it. Stay far away from the wrath of the Eagles fans. With that being said, I like the Steelers in this one but I’m not sure about the score. Carson Wentz has been rock solid for the Eagles so far but like with all rookies, he’s going to have really bad games this season. Richie B. will say this, though, if the Eagles win this game then book them making the playoffs.

Richie B’s prediction: 27-20, Steelers

Sunday Night Football: Chicago Bears @ Dallas Cowboys

Why are these two teams taking up national tv time? This game is the equivalent to watching two jobbers take up valuable time on live tv. The Chicago Bears offense has not been good so far and the same can be said for the Cowboys as well. This game looks to only be offering points in moderation unless this is Dak Prescott’s breakout performance? That’s what Richie B. will be betting on, it’s the only chance of this game being somewhat entertaining. Brian Hoyer is basically the Lance Storm of QB’s whereas Dak still has that unknown x-factor to his game. If I could be serious for a minute, I like the Cowboys via blowout.

Richie B’s prediction: 28-10, Cowboys

Monday Night Football: Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints can’t start the season 0-3 after giving Drew Brees that contract extension? Well, guess what? Richie B. says they will. The Saints defense has just been cringeworthy through two games, and while the Falcons defense has been nothing to brag about, Richie B. trusts them more. This game is in New Orleans, which does not bode well for the Falcons but look for Dan Quinn’s Falcons to give us his best Stone Cold impression.

Richie B’s prediction: 28-24, Falcons

Disclaimer: Don’t be a football smark, this is a work, and trust Richie B. when he says every team will have their day when Richie B. is on the mic.
